Thank you for assembling all these references in this single essay. So much propaganda out there, and so many gullible people...
As an aside, I remember reading in Edward Conze's Memoirs of a Modern Gnostic about his reaction---immediately vomiting---when told that the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Seems a reasonable reaction from a sincere Buddhist scholar...
Will the numerous Japanese war criminals be appropriately punished, including execution If needed for the many war crimes. We will handle this internally and make our own decisions regarding people's fates. Good luck with that. Will there be an actual regime change , resulting in a democracy in japan. We, the current regime will make these decisions.Alone. Good luck with that. Can we feel any assurance that after a five or ten year recovery that this regime will not remain in power and begin again another attempt at conquest. It will be decided internally.Good luck with that. That was the last word the allies were given by the Japanese on all those issues.. Just as critics have their hindsight , I have mine. First , we learned that in the council of six making the decision regarding surrender , they had people who , even after two bombs were not going to give up Edit took the emperor being swayed by the two bombs to break the stalemate. Here is something I can add to that. Just seven years after the end of the war , these so called innocent civilians in japan , screamed in unison for all war criminals to be released. They continued to assure themselves that whatever they had done cant, possibly be that bad. This would go on to be reflected in unbelievably.Poor attempts at an apology by Japan for the other nations of Asia.In for example the nineteen nineties. This overwhelmingly supported By those innocent civilians demanding for the release of all war. Criminals Held in Japan. sent a huge message to all other people in Asia that their lives have no meaning only the lives of Japanese. But of course , why would it be any other way since they are , after all the superior race.
I was born in and spent my early years following WWII in what was once British Colonial Malaya . The locals can attest to the atrocities inflicted on the local population by the Kempeitai, the brutal Japanese secret police in Japanese occupied territories. Ask any POW about the conditions endured by Australian and British prisoners in Changi, the notorious prisoner of war camp in Singapore where my father spent four years and had to be carted off in a stretcher and transported to Australia aboard a Red Cross ship where he spent months in hospital recovering from malnutrition and other tropical ailments. His health was totally undermined for the rest of his life. Ask any survivor about their experiences in building the Burma railroad for the Japanese. Ask any surviving woman about their experiences catering to the sexual needs of Japanese soldiers. Nope, the Japs got what they deserved. As far as I know they never apologized for any of their barbarous crimes. They were in effect let off the hook.
Many nazi's where never prosecuted, they simple went abroad with the help of the allies (mostly USA of course). Those that got prison, like many high ranking officials and businessman were released quickly and placed back into position (the argument of course being to build up Germany again to oppose the threat of communism). Only a few where hanged.
Jacob Schiff, the 'philanthropist' paved the way for communism by giving a 200 million loan to Japan and by blocking any loan to the Russians. The Russians lost the war and it turned the country in chaos. It gave Japan, on the other hand, a sense of superiority as they had won the war against a great power. Hence, Schiff pushed a lever that eventually resulted in the dropping of those 2 bombs, but the aftermath is still with us here today.
Every japanese war Criminal Being held in a japanese prison was released before the nineteen fifties ended. Why?Because the so called innocent civilians , the entire japanese civilian population , of course , joined by others in the higher ranks , screamed for them to be released Insisting that nothing they did was really that bad. And in doing so , they sent a clear message to all of asia that only japanese lives matter , and the lives of the non japanese , the inferior races means nothing. This is a part of post-war. japan gets to fly under the radar and go without criticism with people , not even knowing about it , including you.
I'm curious what Dawson might think of the Oppenheimer film. I'm not sure if Ryan is still in Japan or not (I think the release of that movie got delayed for an August release for obvious reasons)...
Thanks for the data points that aligns with my thinking that dropping these bombs was an crime against humanity and only a demonstration to the Russians.
Total surrender... it's infuriating. In January 1943, Roosevelt and Churchill pushed a policy of 'unconditional surrender' that completely closed the door to diplomacy, guaranteeing millions more would die (including those in the work camps). Why? Because the war was a massive engine funded and fueled by international finance. US banks heavily funded Britain and France before WWI, stepping in only when their investments were threatened by a potential German victory. Then, Wall Street loans rebuilt Germany’s mega-cartels in the 1920s, while US corporations actively fueled the Nazi war machine. The US helped create the very conditions for these wars, only to demand total destruction at the end to cement their global leverage.
Thank you for this, bringing truth to the table. Those men fighting the war at that time still wrestle with that decision and feel the guilt of killing all those innocent civilians.
LaRouche preached this same conclusion for years: that the “costly invasion rationale” was bogus. He mentioned the Japanese were making surrender overtures via Vatican channels to OSS prior to the atomic bombings.
The utopians saw the potential for enforcing world government via the threat of nuclear annihilation, even before the bomb’s conception and the famous Einstein Letter.

History is always written by the winners.
Correct! That’s why the Bolsheviks wrote all the history of WWII
