Pakistan and India have been at odds since the sloppy partition of West and East Pakistan from India, now called just Pakistan and Bangladesh. Pakistan formerly West Pakistan has had issues with India over the contested Kashmir region. The area is ruled by India but a piece n the north east is de facto under control by China and on the north west where Kashmir borders with Pakistan it has never been clear. Many of the Islamic residents identify more with Pakistan than the majority Hindu India. Economically the area is very valuable in terms of resouces in particular several straegic water ways.

Last month a terrorist group killed 26 people in India and injured a dozen others. The attack was religiously motivated.

India blamed this attack collectively on the Pakistani government, although of the 4 attackers two were from Pakistan and two were from Kashmir India. India withdrew from a water deal. “Indus Waters Treaty,” which it signed in 1960. They also stoppe dissuing visas and told those working with visa in india that they had 48hrs to leave.

Pakistan followed up by ending visas to Indians and telling Indians working in Pakistan to leave. They ended trade with India and created a no flyzone to Indian planes.

Next came airstrikes with jets and dones and several were shot down. I am going to break down what that war would look like below
